Part VI: Wrapping It Up

Does anyone else feel like this was the longest vacation ever? As of late, I can't seem to get my act together and finish anything I've started. I'm so behind on lots of things...blogging being one of them. I'll get there...slowly but surely.

We had lots of down time while we were in Mississippi, which we were so happy about. It felt so good to just let the boys spend time playing at Grandpa & Grandma's (new) house. And we loved the chance to relax a little and visit. The last day there, it started to get a little gloomy, weather wise. We had rain, but it was still so warm. Carson & Cade loved the chance to play in the rain without being freezing cold. And play in it they did. The got absolutely soaked and were happy, happy boys. They are just about the cutest things in the world.

"You talkin' to me?"
Showing some love
Notice the height difference between these two!

The trip home was shorter (as in, there were no delays) but harder. The boys were just DONE! The novelty of it all had worn off...nothing was new and they were determined to be stinkers! We would try to read books and play with their gadgets and they would just chuck them. Even Cade refused to watch a movie...which is still so weird to me. He LOVES movies and can watch them for forever without any problem. Like I said...determined! It was rough but we survived. With that said, it was SO worth it. We are so glad we made the trek. It felt good to be re-united with Shane's parents. We feel their absence so much on a regular basis. They are just about to wrap up their first year. Two more to go!

Saying good-bye was...painful & heart-breaking. But we are grateful for the time we had with them and for the technology (skype) that allows us to stay close. We know that they are doing a great work and so much good where they are. It was neat to see them in their new roles. Spending time in the mission home was awesome. I felt strengthened and renewed. Sharing in their experiences strengthens my testimony of the restored gospel. I want to become better and do my part in sharing the good news. I love my In-Laws and couldn't be happier to be a part of their family. Thank you for letting us be a part of your world!

It's fun to read all the details of your trip. Even though I saw you right after, somehow we didn't get around to talking about it. So thanks for filling us all in!
