My Favorite Things!

So I'm following the strand of Favorite Things posts. I was one of the lucky winneres of Brandi's favorite things, so now it's my turn! Woo Hoo! First I'm going to list my favorite things, and let you leave a comment. In your comment say which of these things you'd like if you win. Then I'll print out the comments and put them in a hat and draw the winning name. I'll contact you and find out where you want it shipped, etc, etc. Then you'll get to continue the fun. Get it? This is really fun, so don't be afraid to participate.

I've used Paul Mitchell Hairspray for years now. It is the absolute BEST! I've tried others and it's just not the same. It holds your style but is not hard and sticky. It also smells good which is an added bonus! There really isn't anything like it!!!:)
So, both of my boys LOVE their binkies!!! They just help to sooth them and calm them down. I have friends that had babies that wouldn't take them. I think I would be in a lot of trouble it that was my case. There are times when one baby needs me desperately and it is nice to know that the other can still be happy and calm without me at that moment. They also really help them to fall asleep. LOVE THEM!!!
Alright, I admit it...I LOVE Diet Sodas! It's like a special treat without the extra calories. Now, I know what some of you are thinking...soda, even diet soda, just isn't good for you. True. I just haven't found it in me to give it up. I try to be healthy and I do drink a lot of water (that makes it okay, right?!) but it kinda makes my day when I get to have some pop!!!
I have all of Josh Groban's albums. I LOVE his music...Shane might even say that I have a crush on him. Not true. I've seen him on some talk shows and I really don't think he's my type! However, his voice is beautiful and his music puts me in a good mood. I can't say I have a favorite album...all of them are great. I even have his new Christmas one...so good!
This book was given to me by my mom while I was pregnant. It was recommended to her by someone with twins. This book is saving my sanity! It talks about getting your baby to get good, healthy sleep. I am currently following what it teaches and it works! My boys are still really young but are learning to sleep so well...on their own! The best part...I'm getting my sleep which is the best thing I can do for my boys. When I'm rested, I'm a better, happier mother. I highly recommend the book!
If you know me or my mom very well, you know that I love a pretty smelling house! Probably because my mom's house ALWAYS smells so yummy. These are the BEST candles...Salt City. So many other candles smell for like a day and then the aroma vanishes. Not these. They are pretty darn strong. Some of my favorite scents...Cinnamon Vanilla, Sugar Cookie, German Struessel Cake, and Baked Apple. Right now I have Spiced Pumpkin...it was on sale after the holidays. Oh, so yummy!

I was hesitant at first about the ipod but I've seen the light! While I was in the hospital and had lots of time on my hands, I organized all of our music onto our ipod. It is so awesome!!! I had lots of different playlists to fit my various moods. It has all of our Sunday music as well as our Christmas music. The best part...you don't have to pack your CDs all around. It was one of the best purchases we've made. (Sorry, I think this one is excluded as a prize...I'm not that rich!)
Have you seen this movie??? Oh, so fun and entertaining. I love the music, the dancing, the actors, everything! It is also really clean which is always a plus. I really want to see the broadway production one of these days!

Alright, leave those comments and let me know what you think. Hey, you might be the lucky winner! I'll do the drawing in about a week so stay tuned...

Called To Serve

Congrats to Luke!!! He got his mission call today...ready...drum roll please...Luke will be serving in the Washington D.C. North mission. Woo Hoo! Yeah Lukey!!! He leaves on May 7th. We are so excited for him. He is going to be such an awesome missionary and the people of D.C. will be so lucky to have him there. It's hard to believe he's old enough to be leaving on his mission but he's very ready and will do great. We are so happy for him. What an awesome place to be for the next two years.

Big Boys!

Last night Cade & Carson graduated to their own room and their own cribs. It was the first time they slept in individual beds...I'm pretty sure they missed each other! They did fairly well...not any worse than normal. It is weird to look at them in their cribs. They look all grown up in them! It was bittersweet to move them out of our room. I really want to get better sleep and hopefully it will happen when I don't hear every little thing. We'll see...it may not make a huge difference. It's fun to see them grow. We are doing well. Things are starting to feel more normal...well a different kind of normal! I took the plunge and ventured out with the two of them by myself yesterday! We even made it back in one piece. I went to the Carters outlet and then into Fred Meyer. I was in and out and made it quick. My confidence is slowly building! I felt like a huge eye-sore with the big double stroller. I tried to act all natural with it even though I felt far from it! It was a fun to get out with them. We are working to get into more of a routine but that is still hit and miss. Any advice on that one? Enjoy the recent pictures.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of Cade taking a snooze. It looks like he was perfectly posed for a picture but this was just how I found him.
Doesn't Cade look like a big boy?!
Shane is determined to make these boys to be buddies...do you think it's working? Don't they look like they like each other?!

We ventured out with the boys...so we needed to get them nice and cozy. They wore their little personalized beanies. Last time they wore them they were too big on them....not so much now! They filled them right out and probably won't get to wear them much longer. They looked super cute.
The basketball game was just too much for Carson!
Carson really wanted to take a snooze right before bed time, so I was trying to keep him awake a little longer. He had his pacifier in his mouth which I removed to wake him up. He showed me...he first found his left thumb. I pulled that out and minutes later he found his right thumb. He was determined to go to sleep no matter what I tried to do!

The boys were hanging out bright-eyed in their diapers waiting for their baths.
Their baths were just too much for them. They got clean, warm, and cozy...and took a good long nap! They were pretty cute.

10 Weeks!

I was just thinking back on the last few months and still cannot believe where we've been and where we are now. On Tuesday the boys turned 10 weeks old. It shocked me to think that I was in the hospital for 10 weeks. The weeks in the hospital seemed to pass by ever so slowly and now it's hard to believe that we've had our boys here for the same amount of time. The latter 10 weeks have just flown by. Crazy! It's nice to be on the other side. All the long days...some with laughter some with tears...were all worth it! Cade & Carson are the sweetest little boys and I'm one lucky lady. I'm so grateful that they hung in there and came when they were healthy and could be home with me. Truly a humbling experience.

All Smiles!

We finally got some smiles out of Cade. He likes to be a stoneface most of the time so this was really exciting!!!
Love it!
Carson is a pretty smiley boy. I find him just smiling at nothing sometimes...so cute.
He smiles with his whole face. How cute is he?!

Blessing Day!

Yesterday we were able to bless the boys. What a sweet experience. Everything went so well and we are grateful to all those who were able to be there with us. Shane is a great husband and father and gave two beautiful blessings. It was fun to have all of our family here. We wish we could have spent more time with everyone. Here are a few pictures from our day.
