Cabinets Take Two

I guess enough time had passed since the re-doing of my kitchen cabinets because I got the itch again...and just couldn't help but to scratch. So the remaining cabinets in our house (thankfully we don't have that many of them) just got a face-lift. They have been washed, sanded, primed, painted, glazed, & finished. If anyone cares to know the details, I used a creamy white latex paint called "Cottage White" and topped it with a Mocha colored glaze to give them an antique looking finish to them. This was my first time using a glaze and it was so super easy. Don't be afraid of it...it's way fun. They got 4 coats of polyurethane to help protect them. We also added some basic hardware too. I'm more than pleased with the results (and in my biased opinion, the pictures don't even begin to give them justice).Laundry Room Before

August 29

Today is our day. Our anniversary day. 7 years ago today Shane and I were married and sealed. It rained then and again today in our honor. How sweet of Mother Nature!

Speaking of sweet, I don't think there is a man that comes much sweeter than mine. He's just so thoughtful and kind...all of the time. And he was sure on top of things this year. He planned a great little get-away for the two of us in McCall. He has a generous co-worker that agreed to let us stay in their condo. We spent two nights and two full days in the charming resort town. We were just a few blocks from downtown McCall so we rode our bikes everywhere. So fun. We indulged in delicious foods on the lake front, walked through all the fun little shops, the art show, thrift stores, the farmer's market, and even hit a few garage sales of some of the locals (and found a fun little treasure!). Our highlight was mountain biking at Brundage Mountain. We rode the lift up, had the whole mountain to ourselves, and took our time making our way down. It was so great...and refreshing. We got back in touch with our adventurous sides. It felt like one of our dates way back when...it felt wonderful.

We made it!
Loading the bikes.

I love being in love. Marrying Shane was an easy decision and the best one I've made to date. Happy 7 years to Us!

Having a break from the boys was so nice. I needed it. But I'd be lying if I said that I didn't miss my boys. I even went through the pictures on the camera and that didn't help. I saw these...
How can you not love those faces?! I missed them...but they were well taken care of. They got spoiled rotten by their Aunt and Uncle! Thanks to Brady & Katie, they hardly knew we were gone. We can't thank you guys enough. Debbie also helped us out. Thank you to our family for always being so willing to help!!!

Now it's back to reality. I only wish I didn't have to wait another year to have an excuse to get away with my husband!

Practice Makes Perfect

Over the weekend, BSU had their fall scrimmage. And you better believe we were there! Mostly because it's free. And fun. For the first time we decided to take the boys. They did great...which might have had something to do with the fact that all their cousins were there with them...and maybe because of all the candy I brought with us. Whatever works. It was crazy how many people come out just to watch a practice. The place was packed. It's fun to live in a place that gets so into their team...a little over the top sometimes...but mostly fun. I like that I can watch games and yell and scream loud for a team without being a college student. GO BRONCOS (I yelled and screamed that really loud)!!!

It was pretty cute to see all the little Tucker boys in their jerseys. Grandpa & Grandma Tucker would have been proud!
Brady & Katie & future BSU fan baby BOY Tucker were there.

Carson had things to do and people to talk to.

Whoa. So focused. That must have been some play.

It was worth going to...especially since all future games will be watched from the comfort of my own couch.

Dinasaur Train

These boys are big fans of the PBS show Dinosaur Train. They love to sing the songs from it and it is so dang cute. See for yourselves.

Shane had just walked in the door from work at the end of this one and joined right in!

Carson's turn (notice Cade "chugga-chooing" in the background).

"Pu-Away"

Carson is obessessed with putting things away. And in his mind, that means putting things in the refrigerator. He is getting into the fringe literally every 10 minutes to get his cup which I then repeatedly tell him to put away. So yes, for him putting things away is pretty much connected to the fridge. So he does his duty to make sure everything around the house is "pu-away." Whenever we are looking for something that seems to have gone missing, I always remind myself to be sure to look in the fridge.

Blue-Eyed Bed-Head

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

From this...

to this,
to this,
to this, (round back chairs that I bought and then sold)
to this!
I really wanted a matching set of 6 chairs, but these were such a steal (costing me nothing) that I couldn't pass them up. I may just put a black bench on the other side of the table...eventually.
At the end of this little unplanned project, I came out ahead by $250 big ones.
I'm still giddy about it.
P.S. You better believe I found a killer deal on some bunk beds this week. Thanks to my sweet sisters-in-law Katie and Debbie. Without their help I wouldn't have beat out my competitors! Watching Debbie and I load and strap down/secure the trailor would have made our husband's proud.
