When all else fails....LAUGH

I feel like most days, I take life too seriously...especially when it comes to these boys. Why do I let myself get so tightly wound? In the end, it never really helps and I end up hating the way I feel. What's worse is that I not only make myself miserable, but I make everyone else around me crazy and miserable too. There are way too many instances when I feel DETERMINED to be grouchy...and stay grouchy...despite efforts (by Shane) to help me feel happier. Again, I have to ask myself why! Does anyone else get some sort of satisfaction from pouting and acting like a 5 year old? It is silly and immature but I do it all the same.

Now to my point. Laughter really is the best medicine. Can you imagine what life would be like without a sense of humor? I feel sorry for people who can't take a step back and just laugh. I feel like it's the glue that holds all of my frustrated pieces together. Fortunately for me, I have people surrounding me everyday who make me laugh.

Shane makes me laugh everyday. He is light-hearted and easy going and can make me smile like no one else. Our relationship is always fun because of him.

Have you ever met my Dad? You can't be around him for more than 2 seconds without cracking up. My Mom has a super silly side too...she always surprises those privileged enough to see it. When our whole family is together, we sit around for hours laughing at and with each other. It is a breath of fresh air.

The list could go on and on and on but I'll end with my twiners. They make me smile everyday. Yes...they make me crazy...but all that craziness is mixed with lots of fun and lots of laughter. Makes every day worth it!

I know exactly how that is. I'm usually not so grumpy, but at 32 weeks pregnant I have days where I feel grumpy pretty much from the moment I wake up. I feel bad when Brett gets home and it feels like work to even smile for him. Not every day, but yeah, it does make me feel better to be grumpy. Kinda.
Laughing does make it all better though. Brett and the kids and I always laugh and joke with each other. We love to have fun like that.

Those are sweet little grins. I bet the cutest giggles come with those grins. I'm lovin the pigtail, cross eyed, tongue picture :)

As I was finishing up my comment to you I feared you might live somewhere else. I was so excited when I got off the computer and without even hearing from you first bounded up the stairs and boldly yelled "I'm finally going to take piano lessons! and my teacher is SOOO good!!" Then I edited by throwing a maybe in there since I had yet to speak with you :) hehe

I shall see about Julie. Thanks for the idea.

Funny thing is I was thinking of writing this same post when I clicked on your link...I was thinking to myself "sheesh lighten up and stop being such a meany!" I can get so frustrated and totally impatient and so grumpy....blah blah blah....I hate it but it seems if I am trying to get out of that mood then the universe works against me to keep me upset:)Life. So...I am not alone, you are not alone...this is good. :)

Loved this. I'm also pretty skilled at being grouchy. But I know you have a sweet sense of humor! I can't forget how much you had our apartment laughing!

That is me 100%! I have learned to just laugh in situations instead of go crazy. Jeff helps me with this. It is always better if someone is laughing with you. I always thought I would be the best mom and never get mad, and all that stuff you think and then Michael came and it was a little harder than I thought and well let's just say I have had my moments! Love the pics of your boys! Every time I see someone with twins and I think of you. And I seriously always think, I don't know how you do it! So I think You are Amazing!

TOTALLY true! Sometimes that is the ONLY thing that gets me through a day. (most days I'm a big 'ol grump)
On a totally unrelated note---have you seen the Lowes commercial where the couple call one of their moms after going to the doc and finding out they are having triplets? Well, my point is that at the end of the commercial they show the triplets in a stroller and I think they look soooo much like your boys! Maybe not, since I haven't actually seen them in person, but just from the pictures they could be quints!! :) (ohhhhh, scarrrrry thought!)

I know what you mean! I do the same thing. It's dumb, but I know I do it. At least you still have a silly side, and I know you do. Do I have to remind you about "the picture?" Your dad is absolutely hilarious! I haven't been around him a ton, but when I was, he was always crazy funny.
